BY THE J. KIRBY SIMON FOREIGN SERVICE TRUST
To assist the Trustees in their review of proposals, applicants are asked to follow the format set forth below – i.e., to present these items of information in the following order:
1. Summary description of project. (Capsule report of project (one sentence), including country and city or region where it is to be carried out.)
2. Applicant information. (For each applicant: name; the governmental position of the applicant or of the family member to whom the applicant is related; contact information (e-mail, phone, fax, mailing address).)
3. Full description of project. (Moderately detailed description of the project and what it is intended to achieve.)
4. Dissemination possibilities. (Plans, if any, for disseminating information about the project to other Foreign Service or U.S. government personnel who might find it useful when considering similar activities at other posts.)
5. Involvement of applicant(s) and other project participants. (Role to be played by the applicant(s) – and any other Foreign Service or other U.S. government personnel or their family members – in conducting the project, apart from fundraising.) (Note: If there are Foreign Service or other U.S. government personnel or their family members – other than the applicant(s) – who are major project participants, please name them and provide the government position of each participant or of the family member to whom the participant is related.)
6. Financial information. (Budget for the project (in U.S. dollars, please) and information about the likelihood of other sources for full or partial support for the project.)
7. Biographical information. (Brief biography of each applicant.)
Proposals should not exceed five double-spaced pages, exclusive of items 6 and 7.
Thank you for following these guidelines.
